Eyewear for a Day of Maple Leaf Celebrations

Happy Canada Day! It's that time of year again where we break out the red and white, fire up the BBQ, and celebrate the great country that we call home. And there's no better place to celebrate Canada Day than right here in Vancouver!

As a proud Canadian and longtime resident of Vancouver, I've experienced my fair share of Canada Day festivities over the years. From parades to concerts, barbecues to fireworks, this city knows how to celebrate in style. So, in honour of this special day, I've put together a list of the best ways to celebrate Canada Day in Vancouver:

  1. Have a picnic at Stanley Park - Pack up some Canadian classics like poutine and maple cookies and head to Stanley Park for a scenic picnic. Who knows, you might even spot some of our famous Vancouver celebrities out and about!

  2. Go for a hike - Vancouver is home to some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world. Lace up your boots, pack a Canadian flag, and hit the trails to take in some of our stunning natural scenery.

  3. Watch a Canadian movie - There's no shortage of great Canadian films out there. From classic comedies like Strange Brew to modern masterpieces like Room, take some time to appreciate the amazing talent that comes out of our country.

  4. Have a backyard BBQ - Fire up the grill and cook up some delicious Canadian fare like salmon or bison burgers. Don't forget to wear your favourite Canadian t-shirt or accessory!

  5. Learn some Canadian history - Brush up on your knowledge of Canadian history by visiting a museum or historical site. The Museum of Anthropology at UBC has a great collection of First Nations artifacts, while the Gulf of Georgia Cannery in Steveston offers a glimpse into Canada's fishing industry.

Whatever you do, make sure to celebrate our great country and wear your Sense Eyewear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the summer sun! Happy Canada Day, eh!
